Saturday, February 20th – “Feed the Need”
Our next “Feed the Need” drive will lift up the need for hearty soups and heavy socks, along with our normal kitchen and personal hygiene items. All items donated will go to local food pantries; the socks will be shared with shelters who will help us distribute them to those in need. Click here for a list of requested staples.
And thank you for your generous response to our MLM Sack Lunches drive! We collected 555 filled sacks which MLM will distribute across their 3 locations!
And on Saturday, March 6th – “MLM Furnishings for Eileen’s Place!”
MLM can see the end in sight, as construction continues on a 60-unit housing complex in Wyandotte County. “Eileen’s Place is a 60-unit community of supportive housing for families with children. It offers multi-disciplinary, housing-oriented services aimed to help tenants remain stably housed while addressing individual household needs.” MLM estimates that this complex will reduce homelessness by at least 6% in the greater Kansas City area. Check out their website for more information.
They are now collecting furniture and household items for each unit and are requesting assistance from their member congregations; click here for a list of NEW items that they will need for those units. Outreach and Missional Life are offering a drop-off for donated items at Atonement on Saturday, March 6th, from 9:00-11:00am; if you are unable to leave your donations that day, you may also email Ros in the church office to make arrangements to drop off your donated items early. Volunteers can help that Saturday morning; email Ros for more.
Please note that most activities at Atonement are CANCELED until further notice.
