At Atonement, our mission is “to connect people with Jesus Christ” and to share God’s love. Our ministries reflect our understanding that we live our life in community; that we need each other as we grow in faith and share God’s grace through Christ Jesus; and in doing so, we make a difference in the lives of others.

We have opportunities for those in all life stages and with different interests to grow in Christ, connect with others, and serve the local and global community.

Scouts BSA - Troop 257 (male)

Troop 257 is known as “The Scouts with Heart” . This troop was chartered by Atonement Lutheran Church and has been around for nearly 50 years. The Troop has boys from various churches, not just Atonement. We camp monthly, although some are indoor-type activities. We have participated in serving at the Lenten services for many years, and have participated for several years with MLM’s Christmas store by packing and re-shelving the leftover items at the MLM offices in KCMO. We camp each summer at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation near Osceola MO. We host an annual Eagle Court of Honor where young men celebrate attaining their Eagle rank. That makes 202 Eagles from our troop in 50 years! Click here to learn more about Scout BSA Troop 0257.
