Sunday Morning Education Classes
Children enjoy hearing Bible stories, and putting their hands and minds to work in a variety of activities designed to reinforce the lesson for each class. Our Sunday School runs from 9:45-10:45am on Sundays through May 2022. Please contact Boo McCready for more information.
Acolytes for Worship
Worship is important for all God’s children and all should be involved in some way. At Atonement we want to be intentional about offering a place specifically for 4th-6th graders to lead our worship as acolytes, typically September through May. Acolytes are involved throughout the service – lighting altar candles, receiving the offering, and assisting with communion. 6th graders may also serve as crucifers. Training is offered annually; individual training can also be provided by contacting Boo. For questions or more information about scheduling, contact Shana. You can also register by signing up here.
“4th Fridays” (because it usually happens on the 4th Friday of most months) is a night filled with food, fun, and faith kinds of things for 4th-6th graders. We’ll have dinner, play some games and each night we’ll take 30-45 minutes to do a special project. We meet in the CAFE at 6:30pm, and conclude at 9:00pm. Check out our dates.
YES WAY! Youth Mission Events
For those not familiar with YES WAY!, it was formed a number of years ago for 4th-6th graders to perform mission work during the year. WHY? Kids are creatures of habit. If we can involve them in volunteering consistently as a youth, they will do so the rest of their lives. We’ve expanded the program to include 3rd-8th graders. We are hoping to begin again in the fall of 2021; watch the bulletin insert and the eNews for details. Contact: Dawn Greer. Learn more here.

Youth Bells for 2nd Grade through High School
Rehearsals are held in the balcony of the sanctuary on Sundays at 12:30-1:30pm, through May. Students will learn the basics of reading music, and ringing handbells and chimes to support worship. They will play once a month for worship, as well as for the 5pm service on Christmas Eve. They are included in the Spring Youth Music Mission Trip, and may participate in the all-day “Ring in the Spring” event the first Saturday of March. Learn more here.
Elementary Children’s Choir
