Caring Ministry Opportunities

Bread of Life Ministers
Bread of Life Ministers make monthly visits to those assigned to them, to share Holy Communion and information about congregational life.

Funeral Reception Volunteer
Volunteers help prepare, serve, and clean-up luncheons and receptions for funerals held at Atonement.

Marriage Mentor
A marriage mentor provides Christ-centered awareness for those planning to marry at Atonement.  Our mentors administer the Prepare and Enrich inventory to their designated couple, and then meet four times with the couple to review and discuss the results.

Meals for Members
Volunteers provide meals to those recovering from hospital stays, or who are temporarily incapacitated.

Member Transportation
Volunteers provide transportation to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and worship services for those unable to drive.

Parish Nurses
Our Parish Nurses meet monthly, and help provide meals, transportation to doctors or worship, and help coordinate our Blood Drives.

Prayer Ministry: Write or Pray Prayers of the People 
Prayers of the People are written by congregational members, who agree to do so once a month, using resources provided by our Director of Caring Ministries. Volunteers are provided and pray the Prayers of the People at Sunday worship services.

Offer Personal Prayers during Communion 
Volunteers offer private/confidential prayers for individuals during worship, at the back of the sanctuary. Contact: Pat Bjuland

Prayer Vine Ministry
Members commit to receiving regular email correspondence, as people request prayers for themselves, family members, or friends.

Write Devotions for our Online Lifeline devotions
Members provide spiritual inspiration/contemplation to the Atonement community through written devotions and prayers on a monthly basis.

Stephen Ministry
Atonement’s Stephen Ministers are lay people who provide Christian one-on-one care to those who are experiencing all kinds of needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and the community. Training is provided.
